Summary: This was the worst part.

The worst part is that Subaru was still gentle; still kind, even as a murder.

Breathing was hard. It was like constant bleeding; but he grew used to it. Looking in the mirror and seeing an eye that was no his own broke his heart all over again each time he wasn't able to avoid looking into his reflection.

Shopping for clothes and food made the almost ghost of his sister that haunted him almost laugh and touch him, he could almost hear her scolding him about buying boring food and ugly clothes and sometimes he still couldn't stop the tears building behind his eyes.

That he killed; some innocent, many not; and felt guilty and sad was horrible, but that didn't stop the worst thing. He hated it, and kept doing it because it was the only thing that kept him close to what he loved.

It was remarkably like most of his life.

That's why it hurt the most.
