Uryuu takes up sewing as a child because he accidentally tore his teddy bear with his nails during a bad nightmare.
He was too ashamed to tell his father because he was sure he’d say that Uryuu was too old to sleep with stuffed animals anyway.
Those few minutes when he was fixing his bear, the constant struggle in the back of his mind, where Grampa’s lectures on the Quincy’s and father’s lectures on the human body dissappeared.
He didn’t even care if the job wasn’t perfect (in fact, it was terrible) because he didn’t have to be anyone else but Uryuu in those moments.
