Orihime is just a hair away from him. If she bends, just slightly, her lips will touch his.
This isn't what she wanted. She just wants to be with him, to see him happy, hope maybe that she was part of why he was happy.
She can feel his breath brushing across her face.
For a moment longer, she's tempted. It would be better than nothing.
But she wanted him to know how she felt, to return it. It's, perhaps, selfish, but she can't deny it's what she wants more than anything. More than a fleeting, superficial moment.
She pulls away, closing her eyes. Her life is over. All she can do is hope that maybe someone else could make him happy.
