Renji doesn’t own a picture of Rukia. But somehow, each and every one of her features is etched into his mind. He remembers exactly how the skin on her slender wrist felt, the texture of hair and the way her eyes burned.
He still remembers each tone her voice would take, to the hardest one when she was angry to the softest one she’d take in the many times she had great insight.
He remembers the way she slept, curled up, tiny and almost helpless. Unless you touched her and you found yourself on the ground with a knife to your neck.
What stays with him the most (what he lives for) are few moments when she’d give him a tender look and Renji was sure she was going to spill one of her many secrets before smiling and saying things would be okay.
